I am Ruth Franco, the person behind Lin Psychological Services. I am a qualified psychologist with more than 14 years of experience, registered in Finland by Valvira and a member of the Finnish and the Spanish Psychological Associations.
I got my Master's degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) in 1999, including a year as an exchange student at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK). After graduating I took a specialization course in cognitive-behavioral therapy in Centro Ellis of Madrid (Spain) and I have continued receiving training and education all throughout my professional career, especially in the fields of trauma, self-regulation, mindfulness and self-acceptance.
I have worked as a therapist in private clinics in Spain and established Lin Psychological Services in 2009, based in Helsinki, which has been offering since then psychological services, supervision and training to migrants and locals in English and in Spanish. I have also worked for two years in Finland as a social welfare supervisor in a shelter for migrant women victims of violence.
In addition to the clinical field, I have a special interest and experience in human rights issues, the development of high quality mental health services for all, migration, integration, protection from violence, promotion of gender equality and support of gender diversity.
